The unprecedented impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has prompted many unexpected changes in all of our lives. Unfortunately, youth soccer is not exempt. The president of Okolona Soccer Club has been in constant communication with JCYSL and other local clubs to determine how to proceed with the spring season of soccer. Everyone has agreed to suspend the season to ensure the safety of the athletes and their families. We regret having to make this decision, but everyone’s health and well-being is our priority.

We understand that this decision is disappointing and we know that you may have questions. Your coaches will be in contact with you within the next day or two, and we ask that you contact them directly with any questions that you have.

If you registered for spring 2020, you’ll have two options:

Option 1: You can receive a full refund of the amount you paid at registration.

Option 2: You can defer your registration until Fall 2020.

Please contact your coach and let them know which you prefer. We hope to see you in the fall, and we wish everyone health and wellness in the upcoming weeks and months.

In cooperation with the KYSA (Kentucky Youth Soccer Association), Okolona Soccer Club is postponing the spring soccer season through April 5th. This means that all practices and games are suspended through this time period. This decision is for the protection of the children and families that make Okolona Soccer Club what it is. 

We will continue to update our Facebook page and website as new information becomes available. As always, we are here to answer your questions and address your concerns but we ask that you remain patient with us during this time.

If you registered for spring soccer, we’d like to welcome you (or welcome you back)! Now that registration is finished, we are working hard to finalize teams and prepare for the upcoming season. Your child’s coach will be in contact with you by early March to give you more information. Thank you for your patience!

In the meantime, you may want to take an inventory of your child’s soccer gear. If you have a returning player, have your child try on their cleats and shin guards to make sure they still fit properly. If you have a new player, you will want to purchase soccer cleats, shin guards, and a properly-sized soccer ball.
